Genre:
Literary Arts,Visual Arts
Co-presented by Jay Bernard and The Arts House
Poet and graphic artist Jay Bernard teaches you how to make your own visual poems.
I See You is a presentation of poetry in visual from Jay Bernard, 2012 NUS USP-The Arts House creative writer-in-residence. Local artists Seelan Palay (Singapore), Kelly Reedy (U.S), Tania De Rozario (Singapore), Desmond Kon (Singapore) and spacer.gif collective (Singapore) were given a Jay Bernard poem written during the residency and asked to respond as they wish. The result is surprising, funny, and strange, with responses ranging from Marvel superhero inspired surrealism to moodier oils. Jay also presents her own works that are part collage, part poster, part ransom letter.
