With the doors to the underworld opening this month, we welcome the spirits with screenings of Kaidan, or Japanese ghost stories. These films feature grotesque faces, strange fetishes and the ugly side of human nature that will leave chills running down your spine. Not for the faint-hearted!

A grieving couple is visited on a daily basis by a young boy who they suppose is the ghost of their son, who died years ago as a baby. But is the visitor really their son, and can they cope with the thought that he isn’t? Based on Muro Saisei’s book of the same name.
